Famous Hauntings...
   Now, the name of this page is "Famous Hauntings", but that's not completely accurate, so let me try to explain what this page is going to be all about. Of course, that WILL be the main theme of things, but as usual I plan on doing a little more. Of course I'm going to try to go in depth with some of the most well known alleged hauntings, but I also plan on talking about some places that you may not have heard of that I personally have seen or find compelling.

Why?

Because I feel like it.

    The first thing you might want to ask yourself about this topic is, 'are these places are REALLY haunted, and actually have paranormal activity, or is it just a bunch of people claiming them to be?' Well, first thing you have to know is as like any other topic on this site, we plan on addressing each of these locations with an open mind.

   That means, we aren't blindly believing ANYTHING, but at the same time, we're not ignoring the possibilities either.

What are the most famous hauntings in the world?
Naturally, you got Waverly Hills Sanatorium, or the Stanley Hotel. What about the whole town of Gettysburg? There's a lot of places that have been visited by many-a paranormal geek. Some have claimed to capture something, while others have come up empty. Over time, we're going to try to get through them all, and then some. I'm going to give you a little history on each of them, and some of the legends. In the end, hopefully you'll be able to make an educated opinion of these places, or if nothing else... Amityville
On November 13, 1974, in the house at 112 Ocean Ave., Amityville, 24-year-old Ronald DeFeo used a high-powered rifle to murder his entire family. All six members of Ronald DeFeo’s family were killed as they slept and all, were found lying in the same position, on their stomachs with their heads resting on their arms.

Some people claim the whole Amityville story is nothing but a hoax, while others claim its 100% truth. I've already written a page on it for our Movies Section. Click Here!

The Stanley Hotel
This is another location that has a movie surrounding it. I've already done a page on it for our Movies Page.

The Stanley Hotel is located in Estes Park, Colorado along the foothills of The Rocky Mountains. It was built by Freelan O. Stanley and his wife, Flora. It was opened for business in 1909. Oh, and In case you don't know, The Stanley Hotel was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's masterpiece story, "The Shining". Click Here!
